"Shard" is an abstract 3D animation in which we are given a brief glimpse into part of another universe. The part that we see is depicted as a cave or tunnel, but the actual location of this place is unknown, and may very well be part of a living organism. In the same way, we are only given a fragment of a view of our own universe. There is so much going on that we cannot see with the naked eye. If you go down to the microscopic level, even your kitchen counter becomes a foreign place, even though you may use it every single day.
